Mission statement :

You will own and control the entire payroll process in a global scope (Including different hubs or locations) working alongside the Finance, Legal & People teams.

What you’ll be doing :

We are looking for an experienced Global Payroll Controller who has specialised in Payroll in different locations to help us as we scale.

This role will have a direct impact on the success of the organisation and requires a diligent and focused individual who is passionate about Payroll, reporting and employee satisfaction.

You will be responsible for all payroll functions on a monthly basis as well as acting as an advisor & reporting to functions across Finance, Legal & HR where your responsibilities will be :

  • Ensure the accurate and timely payroll management of 450+ employees in Spain, Germany, UK, and US partnering with multiple payroll vendors and ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Ensure all requirements are met for all government reporting, regulation and compliance in relation to payroll, taxation, withholding and employer contributions
  • Manage the relationship with public and private local and international authorities
  • Deal with social security, social insurance and financial authorities
  • End to end payroll processing, from owning payroll reporting to accounting journal entries
  • Generate monthly management reports and analysis as required, including cash flow forecasts
  • Be responsible for the accuracy and constant update of information uploaded in the HRIS
  • Guarantee compliance and adherence to the policies set down by management team
  • Assist employees with payroll & labour inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Deliver training to managers and employees and induction in relevant areas such as time report and salary calculation
  • Update and create content and guidelines for the internal intranet HR pages
  • Warrant time and attendance records are regularly updated
  • Produce entries for accounting
  • Unify and calibrate criteria across different entities according to legislation
  • Manage Equity Plan, Stock Options and scheme around it from a payroll perspective
  • Commission plan involvement and processing
  • Close collaboration with the Benefits and Rewards Team
  • What you need :

  • Fluency in English
  • Experience coming from a global or international company and environment
  • Being a payroll expert across international borders
  • Strong knowledge of Spanish and International Labour laws
  • Experience in policies in Spain, UK and Germany
  • Regulatory payroll knowledge
  • Experience dealing with Stock Options and scheme plans
  • Strategic mentality
  • Reporting, analytics and data drive
  • Detail orientation with strong analytical, written and oral communication skills
  • Good payroll auditing techniques via reports and experience
  • Passion for processes and build up best practices
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and time management skills
  • Proven ability to listen attentively, adhere to tight-deadlines, multi-task, maintain confidentiality and adhere to company standards of ethics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and DataBases
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organisation
  • Bonus points for

  • Experience in hyper growth startups

  • Consultancy experience
  • Having a fluent level of Spanish
  • Experience managing commissions and how applies to labor and payroll matters
  • Know-how of Payrolls tools (Treasury, Bamboo...)

    Flexible Work Policy

  • Until local governments and health professionals say it is safe to work from an office, TravelPerk will offer you 100% remote working from the country you are employed in.
  • Once it is safe, you will need to be based in or relocate to Spain for this position. Occasionally we will consider people based out of the UK.
  • You can be based anywhere in the country you are employed from but we will require you to travel to the office hub in your country in either Barcelona or London once per week.
  • In addition, every quarter you will be required to travel to an office hub location for up to 5 days to meet with your whole team and the rest of the company for an event.
  • We have flexible working hours to fit around your life.
  • Team members that want to go to the office more than once per week are welcome to!
