The Forecasting Business Manager is responsible for ensuring that the different markets / countries adhere to the processes defined in the Teva Global Forecasting model and that the governance model defined between the markets and the Supply Chain Center of Excellence (SC CoE) is followed according to the rules defined.
He or she also analyzes the forecast accuracy results according to the segmentation criteria agreed and challenge the markets / look for actions in order to improve the forecast accuracy.
This position also checks business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, retailer replenishment analysts, and other sources is fed into the Forecasting process together with the statistical forecast calculated by means of mathematical algorithms so that a qualified input data is in place for forecasting the future demand.
Develop and check the Rolling Forecast (operational forecasts) at different levels of aggregation (hierarchical and time based) for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
Forecasting related data collection and further analysis from the different countries
Upload historical sales, review historical sales trends, perform historical data cleansing, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, identify best fit statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
Conduct Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement for volume variances (in between multiple Rolling Forecast submissions or Vs. AOP)
Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing / sales assumptions
Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with the markets to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts and that the information is properly maintained in the systems
Interact with the market responsible (demand planners, product managers / sales, marketing and finance) to understand demand forecast drivers
Define and maintain product portfolio segmentation criteria in agreement with the countries
Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
Define and apply exception management procedures
Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
Assist on benchmark analysis. Calculate Forecasting related Key Performance Indicators and report onto the corresponding organizational department
University degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics
Three to Five years of experience in the Demand Forecasting area
APICS or other forecasting Certification preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in demand forecasting with an understanding of their operational impacts over the supply chain
Deep knowledge on the Demand Forecasting as well as on Sales and Operations Planning processes
Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills and results oriented personality
Fluency in Spanish and English both spoken and written
Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge in Qlikview development is highly valued
Knowledge of Advance Planning Systems (SAP APO, Manugistics, SAS, Oracle Demand Planning or other software related to demand planning) as well as Business Intelligence system is preferred
