Scytl, a leading provider of election software worldwide, is currently looking for a Public Policy Intern to join the Research&Security department in its headquarter in Barcelona.
Duties and Responsibilities
Public Policy is a team within the Research and Security department. The Public Policy team helps Scytl navigate the complex regulatory and legislative landscape of elections worldwide.
They work with the Research and Security, Sales, Marketing and Operations departments to make sure they understand and comply with the rules that apply to our projects and products.
The team also plays an instrumental role in making sure that policymakers and regulators across the world fully understand how different technologies can be applied throughout the electoral cycle.
The Public Policy Intern will report to the Public Policy Researcher.
The responsibilities of the Public Policy Intern include, but are not limited to :
o Design a catalogue of international standards on elections and technology, by intergovernmental organisations and multistakeholder forums.
o Track legal developments on election modernisation at the national level, with special focus on internet voting.
o Follow-up on election observation reports by the EU, the OSCE / ODIHR, the OAS, and civil society organisations.
o Follow-up on the design of new methodologies for the observation, certification and audit of new voting technologies.
o Explore how new technologies provide enhanced mechanisms (logs data, digital evidences, etc.) for the audit of electoral processes.
