As part of McLaren’s Track 25 plan, we are looking to invest £1.2 billion into Research and Development, leading to the launch of 18 all-new cars or derivatives by the end of 2025.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly successful Vehicle Development team as a Development Testing Engineer, to perform engineering activities for high-performance road car development testing programmes, managing and monitoring the overall vehicle testing programme at our site in Idiada, Spain.

Role Dimensions :

Reporting to the Idiada Manager, the Development Senior Testing Engineer will be based at the McLaren testing facility, within the Idiada proving ground in Spain.

Regular travel and out of hours activity required in support of development attributes sign-off.

Principal Accountabilities :

Engineering coverage of the testing activity : ensure the correct level of support for the testing, defining and ensuring availability of the Development Testing resources, in terms of engineering, technician support and test drivers.

Monitor the execution of the plan, revising and making contingency plans as required.Analysis of the data acquired to monitor test progress / evolution, and diagnose issues.

Managing test efficiency and timings : capability to minimize the vehicle downtimes and the testing costs, with quick problem solving and strategic decisions.

Vehicle Issues and failures during test execution : accurate and quick first level diagnosis and related reporting through the McLaren IT tools.

Additional Reporting : daily test status update reports and periodical updates of DVP status.Develop a team of engineers offering support and guidance and identifying training needs and opportunities.
