At the Sir Victor Hotel in Barcelona we are looking for a Sous Chef , this person will be in charge of organising the team and managing the cooking of the dishes to delight the customers.
A good Sous Chef must be able to follow instructions for cooking and serving well-prepared meals as well as being able to manage in the kitchen and multi-task.
Experience in the use of various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.
Your responsibility is to ensure, on a day-to-day basis, the economic profitability of the department, ensuring the correct use and maintenance of products and ensuring correct production by all staff.
Main duties :
Organising the work stations with all ingredients and kitchen equipment.
To place the relevant orders, in order to have the necessary products available for each service.
To manage, appropriately, any request and / or complaint that arrives from the client, communicating it to the Chef, promoting the necessary actions that are required and doing the corresponding follow-up.
Maintain good relations with the rest of colleagues, both in the department itself and with the rest of the Hotel's departments.
Supervise, participate and comply at all times with hygiene regulations and standards.
Perform a good closing of the shift, leaving the area in good condition and clean and communicating to the person in charge any pending issues.
Actively participate in the operations of the service, organising the production and delivery of dishes in a timely manner.
Supervise the arrival and quality of the goods required for daily production.
Encourage a good working environment within the F&B Department, promoting teamwork and supporting and collaborating with other colleagues at all times.
Actively collaborate with colleagues in the dining room and kitchen, helping whenever necessary.
Demonstrable experience as chef de partie or sous chef.
Experience in the use of cutting tools, kitchen utensils and oven trays and containers.
Ability to work in a team
Ability to communicate in English is an advantage
Be able to communicate fluently in Spanish
