We have a fantastic opportunity within Unit4 for a Database Engineer to join at our office in Granada. As a Database Engineer you are responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of databases.
You are involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.
You ensure data remains consistent across the database, data is clearly defined, users are able to access data concurrently and that there is provision for data security and recovery control.What you will do
Recommend capacity planning methodology and processes to create and maintain databases
Recommend tuning of the database instances
Create Installation documents and standards for new major version of MSFT SQL and its tools and any other tools that access the MSFT SQL database
Create and maintain standards document(s) for backup and recovery of the MSFT SQL database
Recommend solutions for migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes, through the development life cycle
Incorporates security for all of the MSFT SQL databases standards
Recommends database reorganization as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime
Put standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performanceWho are youWe’re looking for people with the right attitude.

ICT related Bachelor level of knowledge and experience working with Azure services
Strong communication skills and fluent in English (verbal and written)
3+ years in supporting MS SQL databases;
4+ years working experience in Windows and IT development / technical support;
Basic experience with Oracle databases;
Advanced knowledge of shell scripting (i.e. command line applications, batch files, etc.);
Proficient on MS SQL internals, backup & recovery concepts, performance tuning, and system replication
Working knowledge of MS SQL architectures, installation, and configuration procedures;
Working knowledge of networking and how it relates to database operations and connectivity;
