Main responsibilities :
Coordinating and executing day-to-day laboratory work and experiments (including Laboratory work and paperwork)
Carrying out the practical elements of studies which can include : DNA / RNA extraction using manual extraction kits and or automated instruments;
PCR manual setup and or using automated instruments; Gel electrophoresis; Sequencing workflows; Precision serial dilutions;
Handling and processing of biological samples including pathogens
Support the planning, reporting and evaluation of laboratory work and experiments.
Accurate recording of laboratory work and experiments in laboratory notebooks, worksheets or a quality management system in a regulated environment
Position requirements, qualifications and experiences :
Significant diagnostic experience in infectious diseases
Clinical / diagnostic laboratory experience and / or microbiology experience desirable.
or Multiplex PCR assay design experience an advantage.
Proven track record and evidence of the ability to translate knowledge into practical achievements
Expert in verbal / written communication skills (English)
Experience of application development for automated systems desirable
