The team of Technology Innovation supports the Digital Initiative in Industrial Affaires by delivering Minimum Viable Products (MVP) to add Value to the Business and foster the digital transformation.

Through these MVPs, new technologies are continuously introduced to the existing IT architectural eco-system. Based on an agile Architecture Framework, the influx of innovative components and the impact on the installed base is managed by assessing competing technologies in order to contain the Total Cost of Ownership.

With this approach Architecture is not defined through a final end-state, but as constantly evolving. Working closely with the agile MVP delivery team, the Technology Innovation Architects continuously discover, explore and help industrializing new elements of our solution architecture.

Within Industrial Affairs, the major clients are the approximately 80 manufacturing sites worldwide, divided into 5 Business Units with in parts very different requirements.

Managing this diversity in an agile way enables the business to drive the digital transformation of the shop floor, fostering new approaches and ways of working.

In order to be able deliver MVPs that fulfill the business's requirements, a digital foundation has to be established in the sites.

Acquiring data from machines, devices and existing solutions such as data historians is the first area of activity. This data is utilized to establish data driven processes in an Industrial Data Lake, where new operational models such as DevOps are established.

Driving the transformation of the existing core models such as SAP ERP to allow more agility and flexibility in the context of regulated environments is targeted by creating a digital application platform, which comprises of SAP MII, SAP PCo and other components.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Application Platforms, the ITS Service Owner MII Platform Manager oversees the development of applications within SAP MII, working closely with the Technology Innovation Architects, adhering to and evolving the Design and Operational Principles of the Agile Architecture Framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Application Owner for SAP MII as part of the Digital Application Platform
  • Work closely with the project teams for MVP delivery and support them in defining the appropriate solution approach
  • Oversee the development of applications in MII both with external partners as well as internally
  • Establish a Build Factory for SAP MII
  • Support the Head of Digital Application Platform in defining a code- and release management strategy for SAP MII
  • Define and manage the required development tracks for SAP MII
  • Support the Data Acquisition team with the integration of SAP PCo
  • Define the APIs provided by SAP MII as part of the Digital Application Platform
  • Perform or participate in Design Thinking approaches to support the product owners in determining the business requirements
  • Basic Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or above in a technical, business or engineering context
  • 5+ Years' experience in consulting or software development
  • Proven track record of SAP MII software development and solution design in the Manufacturing domain
  • Proven Experience in the Manufacturing Environment
  • Knowledge of Agile Software Development, preferably Scrum
  • Experience with SAP PCo
  • Knowledge of at least two of the following modules : SAP PP, QM, PM, MM
  • Knowledge of OPC, preferably UA
  • Knowledge of SAP NWDI
  • Preferred

  • Understanding of life sciences / pharma
  • Experience with GxP regulations
  • Understanding of Code-Management in complex environments (Java, ABAP)
  • Knowledge of software logistics in the SAP domain, i.e. CTS+ for ABAP, Java and SAP MII
  • Experience with Design-Thinking approaches
  • Knowledge of SAP ME
  • Knowledge of Historians (AspenTech, OSI PI)
  • Knowledge of OPC-Servers such as Kepware
  • Experience with Monitoring tools such as Introscope
