Detailed List of Responsibilities Language Lead

Requirements :

1. Candidate should be native of the language they apply for.

2. Experience or knowledge of audiovisual translation (subtitling / dubbing) or having completed studies on the field.

3. Experience as Language lead is always welcome.

4. For junior candidates, 2-3 years of experience as reviewer

  • Direct, client facing counterpart to the client’s client reviewers
  • Key product point of contact of the language : centralizing ownership and expertise
  • Key knowledge manager : building on knowledge management and maintaining knowledge retention
  • Guardian of the client’s brand within TDC which includes :
  • Having a full understanding of the SG, brand guides, glossaries
  • Review guidelines from clients for new clients or updates for existing ones
  • Creating of language specific reference assets, style guides and / or glossaries, when necessary
  • Ensuring all assets are maintained and up-to-date
  • Centralizing product and client expertise according to the customer expectations
  • Discussing with GQLs project / account issues, process, areas of improvement, etc. and assist with proactive actions
  • Analyzing client feedback and assist or propose corrective actions (linguistic hands-on task on text)
  • Manager and guide of the linguistic team for their language and ensuring there is a strong feedback loop. This responsibility includes :
  • Owning the overall quality output of the linguistic team (linguists involved in accounts)
  • Establishing a linguistic roadmap to maintain consistency and accuracy across translations
  • Providing feedback from client reviewers to our linguists
  • Providing feedback to client reviewers from our linguists
  • Coordinating with reviewers and linguists to answer queries and provide clarification, guaranteeing consistency and coherence among reviews and translations
  • Helping on-board new linguistic teams
  • Training and supporting new linguists
  • Building community among linguists
  • Advising Vendor Management and Production on resource selection upon request, taking into account previous experience and market knowledge
  • Tracking quality from linguists in conjunction with vendor management and global quality management teams
  • Quality control (review) step ensuring content is on brand, on preference etc.
  • Reviewing / adapting the content at a first stage for some submissions to acquire experience
  • Once language teams are correctly set up and situation is stable, occasionally reviewing the content : strategic projects, audit mode, client review implementation, etc.
