We are looking for a Senior Manager, Linehaul Logistics and Operations to join our Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) team.

The position is located in Barcelona, Spain and will report to the Director, EU Linehaul Operations.

As an integral part of the European Transportation Operations team, the Senior Manager, Linehaul Logistics and Operations is responsible for :

  • Planning and execution of the linehaul network. The role ensures the cost effective and reliable networking of Amazon FCs and line haul connections to all Amazon facilities as well as third party carrier facilities.
  • Understanding and realizing the overall transportation strategy and continually identifying operational, service, and process improvements in relation to customer experience enhancement in a cost effective environment.
  • Interfacing, influencing and partnering with Amazon’s Fulfilment Centers (FC), Supply Chain, Customer Service, Retail and Finance teams and externally with service providers, offering business and logistics expertise to ensure optimal delivery of service solutions.
  • Relentlessly focusing on metrics to measure performance such as load utilization, capacity availability, on-time delivery etc.
  • to identify defects and trends, working cross-functionally across all partners to identify sustainable solutions for service delivery.

  • Driving standardization of operational procedures and partnering with operations and technology partners to build repeatable and predictable structures in areas of ambiguity to increase consistency and reliability of operational performance
  • Hiring, coaching and developing their team to develop their operational and leadership skills while actively developing the future leadership pipeline
  • 10+ years of experience within Supply Chain and Logistics practice such as distribution, retail, as well as any other state of the art Supply Chain / Logistics industrial company.
  • Experience in leadership positions in Supply Chain, Logistics or Transportation functions
  • Strong ability to manage multiple operational tasks in a fast paced and demanding environment.
  • Good understanding of logistics network management and warehouses processes
  • Decision Making / Problem Solving : Proactively gathers the right data from appropriate sources, probes / considers all of the facts, takes into account other perspectives; conducts root cause.
  • Planning and Organizing : Able to evaluate priorities appropriately; apt at resolving conflict and able communicates intentions clearly;
  • delivering within time constraints.

  • Presentation skills : excellent written & well-polished verbal communication skills; presence and ability to think on his / her feet
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and influence employees and partners
  • Strong inter-personal and relationship-building skills.
  • Post Graduate Programme (PGP) qualification or equivalent in Management of Operations / Logistics
  • Fluent in English
  • Master’s level degree, MBA or higher preferred
  • Experience of SQL and data-driven decision making skills
  • Demonstrated experience of having worked in international environments
