Overview

The Oncology Regional Strategy and Field Operations Director Europe will provide project management, facilitation, governance oversight, and budget / financial management, Oncology regional team capability development.

The incumbent will prepare for and support MPR and Business / medical plan and delivery as well as project management oversight of strategic initiatives to ensure the successful delivery of the Regional Oncology IPT priorities.

  • Facilitate EU Oncology regional team meetings, and Regional Oncology Network and team meetings ensuring proper focus on IPO as well as regional objectives and goals, identifying best practices and continuous improvement opportunities, and drive key regional initiatives / projects set up
  • Partner with Regional Asset leads and cross-functional matrix stakeholders; optimally interface between Global and the region;
  • lead implementation of overall strategic medical priorities including capability building, capacity & business planning, external engagement excellence, Medical Key Performance Indicator management and oversight

  • To work with the country Oncology Heads, EMC Oncology Head and Regional TA Head to drive monthly performance management to drive business decisions and performance.
  • Partner with Global Medical Capabilities Directors and Regional TA Head to develop and implement Oncology Medical capability and expertise training and certification programs.
  • Set direction and build capability and of the European Oncology MSLs and align and engage with the Country Oncology MSL Leaders to optimize field operational effectiveness and secure the delivery of best in class field engagement with Oncology external stakeholders (EES.
  • HCPs, COOPs & PAGs, etc).

  • Strengthen the regional oncology commercial-medical operational interface by working with the Triad (Commercial teams, Market access and Medical) to facilitate identification of select strategies and tactics that enable the regional Medical team and LoCs to deliver greater value to stakeholders. .
  • Manage / drive / coordinate key central projects on behalf of the Regional Onco TA Head.
  • Ensure oversight of quality and compliant Regional Asset specific Oncology medical plans and activities and within Budget.
  • EU Oncology Medical alignment with EMLT as regional and Oncology TA strategic direction and initiatives through active engagement at select European TA Forum and Global Oncology MSL Leaders forum.
  • Ensure strategic and operational alignment of the EU Oncology Medical team with EU regional above-country team, and Oncology TA.
  • Support the Regional Onco TA Head to drive a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Basic qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience in a strategic role within the pharmaceutical / healthcare industry.
  • Proven track record of strong and innovative delivery
  • Expertise in product development and launch processes and a track record at influencing strategic decisions.
  • Strategic and technical expertise in both LoC and above country’ medical and implementation and launch process, with a track record in influencing strategic decisions.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a cross-functional team in a matrix environment to achieve team goals and in working with above country’ teams.
  • Excellent understanding of risk exposure and compliance requirements within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record in implementing projects and change management.
  • Solid experience of driving performance and qualifications / experience in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. ADP).
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • MD or PhD
  • Previous field experience
