A position as an Electrical engineer with experience in Electrical Propulsion has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe (Madrid).
The successful applicant will join Engineering department.
Electrical department is looking for a person with skills and experience in electrical propulsion, from components specification up to system integration on aircraft.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include :
Produce system / equipment specification from product or architecture requirements.
Define interfaces of the electrical systems.
Produce system diagrams and / or circuit diagram.
Consider and design to electrical safety guidelines.
Perform detailed design in CAD / CAM implementation on component / equipment / mechanical level in accordance with engineering design rules.
Define test strategy and validate design.
Develop and integrate Electric, Electronic Sub-system / equipment / component / module matching the required safety, quality and performance levels according to Airbus systems engineering processes and the needs of our customers.
Identify the activities of the development life cycle that are necessary.
Develop a system / product and provide the level of confidence which is consistent with regulation and program requirements.
Define checkpoints and reviews with associated maturity expectation aligned with program phases and gates.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience :
Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in engineering or a related discipline.
Experience in Engineering, ideally as Electrical engineer with experience in Electrical Propulsion
She or he must define propulsion system performance, component characteristics, aircraft interface, and test requirements.
For that it is essential the capability to develop computer models of the propulsion system in an effort to model its physical characteristic and optimize the overall configuration.
Therefore modelling know-how in Matlab, Orcad, PSpice... (or similar simulation and computing tools) is required.
It is mandatory skills in energy storage equipment (as batteries or supercapacitors) and electrical energy production elements (generators, fuel cells...) definition.
For hybrid solutions, integration of the electrical propulsion with conventional propulsion system must be stated.
Finally it must be specified test strategy to fulfil electrical directives and allocated requirements. During development process, candidate will participate in design reviews, preparing and presenting electrical system implementation demonstrating technical rigor and attention to details.
Research and Technology (R&T) process knowledge is welcome, with experience in investigation and / or papers publication.
Key element for electrical propulsion is battery certification, therefore experience with DO-311A is necessary.
English and Spanish must be negotiation level, written and spoken.
