Context And Mission
The candidate will join Marta Melé’s Transcriptomics and Functional Genomics lab within the Life Sciences Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC).
The lab is interested in understanding how the information encoded in our genome determines gene expression variation across individuals and cell types.
We ultimately want to understand how expression changes in both coding and non-coding genes are associated with phenotypic differences between individuals including disease risk.
Our lab uses novel computational tools and high-throughput functional assays to tackle these questions.
The candidate will have the possibility of leading analysis of thousands of human transcriptomes from both bulk RNA-seq and single-cell RNA-seq datasets.
He / she will develop new tools to analyze expression and splicing variation across human tissues and develop statistical methods to ultimately understand the relationship between gene expression and human disease.

The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department
