Summary

Leads a Business Unit within a country. Is responsible for the development, implementation and follow-up of the strategic and operational direction for Sales as well as for Marketing within a Business Unit to reach the set targets and profit growth and become partner of choice leveraging Baxter’s unique capabilities.

The person has responsibility for a Business Unit turnover of 30 million €.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and propose the Sales and Marketing strategy for the Business Unit responsible for and this in line with the European and Country objectives
  • Responsible for the achievement of the defined profit targets
  • Identify future growth opportunities
  • Finalize forecasts and propose Sales budget, be fully responsible for the Business’ profit & loss
  • Analysis of the results, the market, the competition and the profitability of the Business Unit while preparing the launch of new products & marketing actions in line with the set objectives
  • Ensure the coordination of the promotional expenses
  • Define the Sales & Marketing organization of the Business Unit while establishing the necessary interfaces with the other Business Units and Functions
  • Allocation of means and resources (human, financial, time, materials, ) in function of the forecasts and provisions and the Global, European and Country strategy
  • Build a strong Sales & Marketing team and ensure that operational excellence is achieved
  • Manage the human resources in the organization (recruitment, evaluation, development, retention)
  • Develop and sustain outstanding customer relations, including relations with key opinion leaders, government ministries of health, local health care systems, third party payers and key decision makers
  • Involved in negotiations with key opinion leaders and ensure market and customer monitoring
  • Liaise with other Baxter Business Units and Functional leaders on a local level to deliver on financial commitments for the Business Unit with a focus on improving sales growth and returns
  • Coordinates the interface with Europe regarding Sales & Marketing of the products responsible for
  • Liaise with the European teams within the Business and participate actively in the implementation of Global strategies and initiatives
  • Coordinate the interface with the support services in Baxter
  • Elaborate and manage the budget of the Business Unit responsible for
  • Contribute to the development and the implementation of the long-term pricing strategies
  • Participate in the tender management process (if applicable)
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (Science, Commercial, Medical, )
  • 7 to 10 years operational Sales & Marketing experience in a healthcare company
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience leading a team
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is a must
  • Financial knowledge and cash flow management
  • Agile thinking approach
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Entrepreneurial approach
  • Excellent knowledge of the Business Unit’s environment (Key Opinion Leaders, competition, products, )
  • Proven people management experience
