Description of the job :

A vacancy for a Responsible Cost Accounting has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe, Madrid.

The successful applicant will join TFDAS department.

Task & accountabilities :

The job holder is the responsible for cost accounting (function and processes) in Airbus Defence and Space SAU (Defense and Space) :

  • Responsible for month-end closing processes within the area of responsibility (CO Module), taking the necessary corrective actions.
  • Validate and update Master Data, ensuring compliance with Divisional guidance and requirements on a regular basis. Ensure Data quality and reconciliation between different systems (SP1 and S4 / HANA).
  • Responsible for Implementation and adherence of ADS FGM and ensure correct allocation of costs

  • Lead and propose improvement projects related to cost accounting processes, striving for harmonization across Division.
  • Drive all relevant system development initiatives.

  • Responsible for Setting-up and animating cost center reporting process including any relevant analysis on various KPIs (hourly rate and levy evolution, productivity, recoveries).
  • Be the Business Partner towards the Finance Community with respect to different problems or questions identified within the scope of Cost Accounting.
  • Support the Financial Accounting team in relevant improvement and harmonisation projects,
  • Responsible for driving the yearly budget and forecast (FCIII) processes, leading to the determination of the hourly rates.
  • Develop Cost Accounting knowledge and understanding across the Finance population
  • Support both local and Group audit processes.
  • Functionally manage and support the development of a team of 3 to 4 people, all involved in the cost accounting process.
  • Manage any additional external resources (Consultants / Accenture).

    The main activities of the jobholder will require team management skills, project coordination skills, as well as a deep technical know-

    how in terms of finance / controlling and especially cost-accounting. In this respect, the jobholder is the focal point for any Cost Accounting topic for different internal (Program and Function Controlling teams, FAS, Accounting, reporting, Financial systems and IT) and external (Auditors, Airbus Group) actors.

    Required skills :

    We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience :

    ¤ Educated to degree level in Finance or equivalent

    ¤ At least 5 to 10 years of experience in Accounting / Cost Accounting is required.

    ¤ Team management skills

    ¤ SAP knowledge would be a plus.

    ¤ The ability to work to strict timescales as part of an integrated, multidiscipline team

    ¤ Proactive, problem solving and decision making.

    ¤ This position requires a negotiation level of English and Spanish.
