POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe position of Commercial Contracts Director involves fully understanding, interpreting, and managing the terms of complex contracts and changes to those contracts, in order to maximize the commercial / operational benefit of the contracts for the organization.
The candidate will serve as the primary, client-facing, point-of-contact for the negotiation and administration of assigned agreements.
RESPONSIBILITIESTo have a complete understanding of the contents of the complex contract(s) and to apply the terms to the best commercial and operational interests of the business.
Strong financial skills and acumen. Quickly analyze the impact of financial negotiations in conjunctions with other business / commercial terms.
Coordinate negotiation of contract terms from proposal stage to project close-out in accordance with relevant internal policies.
Quickly analyze complex opportunities for commercial risk and potential benefit to the business. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the organization.
Fully understand and brief relevant parties on the interpretation of the contract obligations and the commercial / contractual impact of any failure to achieve these obligations.
Lead on negotiations with prospects, within authorized level of authority. Act as liaison between departments involved in the negotiation and client on-boarding process, and work to ensure timely internal and external responses to facilitate contract negotiation.
Summarize and communicate contract terms or changes to appropriate departments (including Legal, Operations, Finance and Commercial groups).
Ensure flow of approvals in accordance with corporate and / or business unit guidelines.Provide leadership with information briefs on contracts, on both a regular and ad-hoc basis.
Ensure that all internal and external contractual discussions comply with strict confidentiality and security provisions.
Maintain detailed status reports on all negotiations for tracking and audit purposes. Assist in contract template improvement based on lessons learned.

EXPERIENCESignificant and relevant experience of effective contract management. Experience working in a variety of commercial environments, including working on significant BPO, SaaS, Technology contracts.
Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp highly complex concepts and analyze the associated commercial impact and risksDemonstrated strong negotiating skills with customers in relation to complex contracts.
Ability to quickly assimilate and retain detail of contractsInitiative, decisiveness and self-motivation. Ability to prioritize simultaneous activities, along with a flexible approach to workAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders, customers and partners.
