We are looking for a Category Manager Components to be responsible for $50-75MM component category spend across 13 global manufacturing facilities.
This role will support SRG and is primarily focused on component materials (Fasteners, Tape, Adhesives, Wire harnesses, ).
As part of the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Direct Materials team, this individual will be responsible for category management, supplier management, strategic sourcing, project execution, bidding and evaluations and the development and implementation of category strategies across cross-functional teams.
What You Will Do In Your Role
Build working relationships with key stakeholders in the business, operations, engineering, legal, purchasing and other shared capabilities.
Develop and work with cross-functional teams to understand the categories, supply chain, processes, requirements, key drivers, risks and economics.
Develop category sourcing strategies, incorporating business risk profile, market supply / demand variables, operational / business requirements, optionality and deep economic and critical thinking.
Continually improve efficiencies / effectiveness / agility by advancing processes, methodologies and knowledge (advance use of technology).
Develop metrics / KPIs that measure performance, total cost of ownership (TCO) and profitability.
Define supplier expectations and work with suppliers to advance value creation. Establish supplier communication plan to review performance and align upon and prioritize projects and initiatives.
Manage strategic supplier relationships & performance across all categories through Contract Management, consistent reporting of Metrics / KPIs and developing and executing strategic supplier / category strategies
Develop and manage advantaged agreements which define the supplier / customer relationship and expectations for ways of working

Leverage Sourcing / Category management tools including but not limited to TCO analysis, Should-Cost models, Market Benchmarking, Market Index Tracking, Public Data Analysis, etc.

Day to day Category & Supplier Management (Urgent Customer needs, Supplier performance issues, Data gaps, etc.)
Be(come) the subject matter expert in the assigned categories
The Experience You Will Bring
Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in sourcing, sales, operations, purchasing or engineering.
Experience in contracting and / or contract execution
Willing and able to travel as required (up to 50%)
What Will Put You Ahead
Advanced degree in Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain or Business Management
Experience with manufacturing, maintenance or operations within the Automotive Industry
Experience leading through influence (e.g., cross functional teams, indirect reports, etc.)
Experience as a Strategic Management, Operations, or a Supply Chain Consultant
Experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies
