Verisure, operating under two brand names (Securitas Direct & Verisure) , is seeking a Product Owner to be part of the IT Operations area.

Nowadays, as we are living in a VUCA environment, with new competitors appearing, growing fast, offering disruptive products, and having customer more and more demanding, it is needed to adapt quickly to changes

To be able to face this challenge, we are defining a common way of working across the company, based on agile principles and DevOps practices, that aim to improve efficiency in the delivery process by reducing the lead time

The approach of the Way of Working is oriented on how teams work (team first approach), looking for autonomy and end to end responsibility (DevOps culture), automating as much as possible and improving quality in each activity they face.

Strategic context and Value proposition

Two years ago, we launched the Way of Working transformation office so that drive the company to work in a different way, based in shorter delivery periods and receiving constant feedback from the customer so that plan next developments.

Development teams has increased their delivery significantly and we have the mechanisms to embrace new customer necessities quickly.

However, it s time to go further . Autonomy and automation are key elements to drive our teams to be the most DevOps efficient teams .

To reach this goal we are going to change the way of collaboration among development teams with cross technology teams, creating Platforms as a Service ( PaaS )

Here you have the opportunity to join our team and collaborate with us on defining the products that these platforms should offer (considering development teams as their customers), fostering DevOps teams autonomy and considering DevEx (development experience) as key element to evolve these products.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Drive the area to work from projects to products (to evolve the products instead of only handle projects)
  • Help to define the products that will be part of the platform (PaaS)
  • Address customers demand towards the teams.
  • Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage
  • Help teams to Keep the Product Backlog healthy , refined and following DEEP criteria (Detailed enough, Emergent, Estimated, Prioritized).
  • Always be available to clarify doubts to the team and to attend their needs.
  • Ensure all User Stories meet INVEST criteria (Independent, Negotiable, Valuable, Estimable, Small, Testable).
  • Teamwork organization and methodology
  • Defines and controls metrics and target KPIs
  • Coordinates cross IT Ops teams work and projects
  • Lean approach, responsible for the agile and lean transformation in IT Ops teams
  • Location

    It is a permanent hire and the role will be located at our Technology Center in Madrid, Spain. As we are a global company with other technology centers and worldwide, some travel could be required.

    Experiences and Qualifications

    We see this role as critical for the achievement of Verisure’s growth and organizational transformation goals.

  • Degree on Computer Engineer, Telecommunications or similar.
  • High level of English.
  • Between 1 and 2 years of experience as a Product Owner or Functional Analyst.
  • Experience in software development projects.
  • Experience in projects with high user dependency, preferably in corporate environments.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with agile methodologies
  • Experience with DevOps teams
  • Desirable experience with IT operations areas
  • Desirable experience in automation
  • Competencies

  • Very strong process skills and knowledge
  • Independent problem solver that can set priorities, make high-quality judgements, lead team to setup decision points in a structured way, and enable efficient decision making
  • Ability and willingness to take a "hands-on" approach, while maintaining an ability for a high level or strategic view of key portfolio improvement activities
  • Effective time project management skills - a proven track record of getting things done and leading projects to measurable impact
