The Fashion team at Amazon is looking for a talented, customer-obsessed Senior Category Manager to support the Marketplace growth.

This role offers the unique opportunity to act as category manager for the Fashion product family (Apparel, Shoes, Luggage, Jewelry and Watches) in Spain, while also driving large scale, high visibility projects across a variety of internal teams and with an EU impact.

  • The ideal candidate will be (1) highly organized and have a demonstrated track record of successful project management, juggling multiple projects with competing deadlines;
  • 2) a self-starter with a passion for independent, creative problem-solving; (3) analytical and able to gather and use data to identify and prioritize opportunities;
  • 4) detailed-oriented and able to write high-quality documents and present to senior leadership; (5) able to deal with ambiguity and manage multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

    Furthermore, we are looking for someone enthusiastic, self-motivated, customer-focused, and a team player.

    The Senior Category Manager will have several key responsibilities within the third-party Marketplace side of the Amazon Consumer business, including :

  • Ownership of Category & Strategy : act as business owner all Softlines (Fashion) categories (Apparel, Shoes, Luggage, Jewelry and Watches) in Spain Marketplace.
  • Audit and report on input and output metrics. Possess a complete understanding of variables impacting the business. Work closely with Leadership (European Heads of Seller Services) on strategy planning (including three year plans , yearly operating plans and local action plans) to drive best-in-class Customer experience and grow the business in terms of Gross Margin Sales.

  • Project Management : Lead a variety of projects to drive growth and improve Customer and Seller Experience across Softlines in Europe.
  • Develop a complete understanding of Customer and Selling Partner needs through data. Use that data to propose innovative initiatives, features and solutions.

    Obtain resources to deliver on those. Create business project plans and execute on them. Partner with tech and central teams to drive automation and scalability across the worldwide organization.

    Automate and scale the existing category-level opportunities, and roll-out existing EU-wide initiatives. Track results and impact of the projects and communicate to Leadership.

    Coach more junior team members supporting in those projects.

  • Business Development : work with direct Selling Partner recruitment teams to help identify strategic accounts and add selection, improve pricing and convenience for the category.
  • Liaise with Selling Partners to obtain anecdotes and data to a drive a continuously improving experience.


  • University degree in an analytical field
  • A solid background in category management, category analytics, or related experience (e.g. top-level management consulting) that demonstrates strong analytics and business management skills (5+ years)
  • Results orientation and good organization skills, with a high degree of ownership and experience managing multiple priorities.
  • Proven experience in developing original ideas, approaches, and solutions to typical, unusual, or difficult situations in a competitive and ever changing business climate.
  • Strong analytical skills (including advanced excel and database analysis).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A great deal of personal initiative and strong hands-on attitude along with creativeness, decisiveness and results-driven mentality for a business-focused way of thinking.

  • MBA from top tier business school is highly preferred
  • Medium to advanced knowledge of SQL is required to develop this role successfully but not a blocker for hire if candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills and is willing and able to learn in a short time frame.
