Job Description

The IT Business Consultant is accountable for the origination, collection and translation of business needs and requirements into effective IT enabling solutions.

This role is internal customer facing and interacts daily with the functional leaders for a range of transactional shared services covering the Finance, HR and Sourcing functions.

This role supports the collection, analysis, review, documentation and communication of business needs and requirements for the Global IT organization, and remains as a single point of accountability for the follow through, delivery and execution of the IT development and release.

The ideal candidate will bring to the conversation an understanding and experience of the role that Cloud and Digital technologies bring to the transformation of work, as well as the role that technology must play to enhance compliance and internal controls. Organizational levels

  • Reports into the Enterprise Applications & Transformation Director
  • Has a strong dotted line relationship to the Finance Manager Global Center Operations
  • Responsibilities

  • Leads the gathering of business needs and the design of IT enabling solutions through direct interaction with global shared services leaders.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to define business outcomes to be achieved, high-level program plans and timeline
  • Focuses on developing and improving business processes; drives the development of supporting analytics and metrics both within the IT and business organizations
  • Elicits, analyzes, specifies and validates the business needs of project stakeholders including interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to convey to development teams throughout the software lifecycle
  • Identifies, proposes and influences business solutions, negotiates deliverables and requirements across multiple business customers or organizations
  • Conducts program kick-offs with Project Manager(s), and IT and business stakeholders, as needed
  • Sets up cadence with Project Managers; monitors execution and manages risks across all projects
  • Escalates risk as appropriate to IT and business stakeholders for transparency and resolution
  • After execution, conducts touchpoints to ensure realization of intended business outcomes
  • Partners with IT Operations to ensure high quality support and service deliveryAccountabilities
  • Acts as the single point of accountability for the Global IT organization
  • Coordinates activity with IT Solution Delivery Leads to identify and allocate resources to projects
  • Clear and ongoing communication with key stakeholders
  • Maintains accountability for delivery and execution of the business IT needs
  • Technical Competencies

  • IT project and program management experience of leading end to end delivery of IT solutions to meet and exceed business requirements;
  • Experience or strong understanding of Agile / SCRUM methodologies is a distinct plus.

  • Experience supporting the IT needs of typical shared services functions that operate on a global basis
  • Broad IT knowledge, skills and capabilities experience with Cloud and Digital capabilities is a must
  • Functional and some technical experience with SAP, Workday and SAP Ariba are a distinct advantage
  • Understanding / experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions and other related contemporary automation and enabling technologies
  • Leadership Competencies

  • Work with cross-functional global teams at a business leadership team level
  • Ability to form strong / collaborative working relationships across a global IT organization
  • Partners effectively with external vendors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • This role is suited to an IT professional that has experience in the end to end development of business needs into enabling IT solutions.

    Typically, this requires 7-10 years of broad IT experience and a demonstrated track record of solution delivery and enablement.

    This is a customer facing role that is hands on within the business on a daily basis as such this requires the personality and interpersonal skills to make, manage and maintain relationships across a broad range of clients from hands on users all the way up to functional leadership
