The Vodafone Internet of Things (IoT) programme is designed specifically to meet the needs of new and evolving business verticals, growing at 20% per year to reach €2bn incremental revenue across Vodafone Operating Companies, Affiliates and Partners by the year 2020.
Tofulfil the Technology requirements of the IoT programme, Vodafone Group hasdeveloped its own IoT Service Platforms to target the key strategic growth areaof IoT & Consumer Electronics designed specifically to meet the needs ofGlobal IoT customers and protected by Vodafone IPR.
Inorder to continue VF’s leadership position, and to drive it further, IoTEnterprise Products and Solutions require IoT Connectivity Technical Solutionarchitecture team.
This would report to the IoT Connectivity EngineeringManager.
RoleProfile Big Data Architect
Asa Solution architecture team member, you will be responsible for leading theend to end design for new connectivity features and services in VodafoneIoT.
You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end high and LowLevel design of various IT components and telco network platforms for our IOTproducts.
Asa Big Data Architect you will be responsible to design end to end the nextevolution of the IoT Analytics platform with the focus on Business demand andindustry best practices.
Keyaccountabilities and decision ownership :
Design & Engineering according to the product requirements and Enterprise Architecture guidelines defined by commercial business cases and Architecture team.
Lead Analytics design issuing engineering designs, through external andIn-House Software Development, ensuring code quality review, security compliance and backwards compatibility
Enable predictable delivery for carrier grade Platforms and Enablers, working closely with trusted SI Partners assuring Management, Capacity, Resourcing and Shared Risk
Provide Leadership on technology inputs to Business Cases for End-to-End Product Design and ensure that the different domain designs are aligned with this design (including satisfying key Performance, Legal, Regulatory and Security compliance across portfolio)
Contribute to strategy reviews with internal customers &external suppliers
Monitor industry trends and find opportunities to apply innovative technologies or ways of working to existing or upcoming products & services
Lead vendor selection and management. Delivering the optimum balance between compliance to requirements and delivery times / costs.
When required, support non-standard customer solutions at pre-sales stage to ensure the proposed solution can be delivered and supported at the appropriate cost base.
Corecompetencies, knowledge and experience :
Detailed knowledge and experience in Big Data.
Experience indelivering large projects through design, managing internal and external stakeholders
A proven track record of analytics design with the focus on the customer experience and easy to use.
A clear understanding of working in a large multinational matrix organisation, with a demonstrable leadership ability to make things happen across multiple local Operating Companies
Knowledge of the IoT market trends and main customer needs
Effective at communicating technical information both in detail to fellow engineers, and through Technical presentations and report writing, particularly adept at communicating complex technical information in an easy to comprehend manner.
Applyif you have :
Degree qualified in Computing or similar.
Knowledge in Big Data Technologies.
International experience and proven ability to deliver within a geographically dispersed matrix organization.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ablility to adjust own style to suit the audience and achieve objectives.
Excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and fluent in English (spoken and written), second language an advantage.
Strong presentation skills.
