Role Summary :
Lead and execute engineering design, analysis and product support work on wind turbine Gearbox and Drive Train components.
In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-
term and some long-term business goals. The design responsibility reaches from the conceptual design stage through prototyping to the serial implementation and support of the installed fleet
Essential Responsibilities :
Apply GE design processes and Six Sigma methodology.
Qualifications / Requirements :
B.A. / M.A. in Mechanical, Structural or Material Engineering, or equivalent
Strong engineering or other technical experience
Solid background in mechanical design engineering, with good mechanical sense and fundamental base
Solid experience in designing, qualifying, supplier and fleet support of rotating machinery or gearboxes
Solid experience in gear and bearing design in gearbox application (journal bearing knowledge is a bonus)
Knowledge in design and analysis tools like 3D UG, Matlab, etc.
Knowledge with calculation programs like KISSsoft, LVR, LDP, MASTA
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Technical drawing and design interpretation background
Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries
Fluent English written and spoken
EU Work Permit

Desired Characteristics :
Master Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
Basic knowledge of wind turbine design, components, assembly and manufacture
Familiar with one or more of the calculation programs like KISSsoft, LVR, LDP, MASTA
GE Business tools and practices expertise
Proven ability to work under pressure and challenging conditions. Strong desire and ability to drive improvement and change
Willingness to travel
