Develop and manage a stable supplier base that delivers quality products and services on time at globally competitive pricing (OTD - 95%, Quality - 98%)
Develop a supply chain Annual Operating Plan (AOP), based on the forecast annual spend for direct and indirect material
Determine cost reduction opportunity projects / initiatives and drive throughout the year in line with savings / cost reduction objectives.
Drive CIP in improving internal processes and reducing costs
Manage the training, development, retention and succession of staff to ensure improved people performance, career development and retention.
Ensure compliance with corporate policy and regulations covering such aspects as ethics, integrity, health and safety, SOX and other requirements.
A key accountability will be to drive commodity sourcing in alignment with regional commodity strategies. This will entail :
Planning annual direct material spend targets
Supplier consolidation and leverage volume
Driving negotiations and closing contracts for both direct and indirect commodities in line with supplier strategies and savings targets
Integration of new products with associated supply chain solutions.
Total product cost must be in line with gross margin and market level price objectives
Developing a robust domestic sourcing plan for key component families that aligns and complements the existing supply chain solutions for each of the product lines
Drive high standards of ethics and compliance through the team The site has a well developed CIP culture using Six Sigma and Lean and will want to employ these techniques in the improvement of the supply chain process.
In addition, the site is in the process of raising the levels of talent and developing a talent pool for future growth. The management of individual and team performance is a key part of future success in the role.
The incumbent will work closely with all peer group managers and will matrix into IPO Supply Chain Director. Previous exposure to matrix management structures will be an asset.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, with a dotted line reporting to the Supply Chain Director, this position is based in Pozuelo, Spain.
The immediate challenge will be to stabilise the purchasing processes, improve supplier performance, reduce Past Due Backlog and work with the functional leaders to optimise inventory levels and address the upstream challenges.
This key appointment will have a substantial impact on improving Customer delivery performance and reducing material costs.
This will be done through increasing cross site collaboration and implementing global strategic agreements at a local level.
Operational supply chain experience of minimum 10 years in high volume manufacturing with minimum of 5 years in team management are essential
Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Supply Chain with CIPS / APICS preferred
Experience in international sourcing, preferably including the conversion from high-cost to low-cost suppliers
Strong experience in inventory and stock management, confidence with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
Fluency in English and Spanish are essential
