Our client, needs to incorporate a Deputy Legal Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Advice on Health & Safety;
  • Monitoring and interpretation of sustainability legislation;
  • Support in any litigation in which the business may be involved;
  • Support in managing external counsel relationships overseas across the business, including managing all engagement agreements and reviewing legal invoices;
  • Monitoring and evaluating legal spend;
  • Liaising with, and giving guidance to, internal legal counsel in the business to ensure consistent legal strategy across all jurisdictions;
  • Advice to all the Centre legal departments on a variety of day-to-day legal issues;
  • Legal inductions for new employees;
  • Summarising and communicating effectively complex legal concepts to various stakeholders at all levels in the business, demonstrating both flexibility and an intuitive approach in all communications;
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of education and training programmes on topics where staff need to be aware of the legal background and context;
  • Supporting the businesses in implementing any crisis management plan to achieve a co- ordinated response
  • Legal Administrationincluding Legal record keeping (i.e. powers of attorney, confidentiality letters, corporate information and letters of engagementfor external counsel).
  • Requisitos

    Professional requirements and experience

  • Legally qualified with BA or LLB;
  • Minimum of 7 years PQE,at least 3 of which was gained in private practice at a well- knownreputable law firm;
  • Computer literate with good Microsoft Officeskills.
  • Fluent in English
  • PersonalCharacteristics

  • Strong client relationship and negotiationskills are a must;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication;
  • Problem prevention mentality
  • A strong negotiator withthe ability to demonstrate sound commercial and business acumen;
  • Ability to thinkstrategically, analyse carefully, exercise sound judgment and to work independently under time pressures on a wide range of issues in afast-paced environment;
  • Strong project management skills, with anability to prioritise;
  • Ability to participateeffectively and constructively as a member of a team with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with colleagues and cross-
  • functionalteams at all levels of the business. Ability to be a strategic partner andtrusted advisor for CLF's clients in the businessdemonstrating an empathetic and approachable nature;
  • Proven success inbuilding internal and external partnerships, demonstrating the ability to work with people at different levels and from different backgroundsand from differentcountries;
  • Languages :

  • Fluent in English. Other European languages advantageous
