This position is a member of the SAP Basis team within ERP - Architecture and Infrastructure Services. The Principal SAP Basis Engineer is responsible for the technical aspects of enhancing, updating and deploying critical changes, design new solutions and create procedures in the SAP area.

This role updates the SAP software configurations, integrations and upgrades, as required by the business. You will support ERP application team with their new and changing requirements, projects and act as second level for the ongoing operational activities done by the outsource team

Responsibilities :

  • Provides solutions to assigned problems that are practical, effective, innovative, lasting, balanced with regard to stakeholders’ conflicting needs, and consistent with objectives.
  • When requested, provides data and presentation content that is accurate, complete, timely, insightful and compelling.
  • Leads the design and implementation of processes, metrics, reports, surveys, and Operational tools*as assigned that are practical, effective, innovative, robust, sustainable, and consistent with objectives.
  • Provides relevant, trustworthy, astute, proactive, balanced, and valued counsel on opportunities, design, and improvement of assigned processes, performance metrics and reporting, and customer surveys.
  • Diplomatically represents and evangelizes an end-to-end, customer-focused, data-driven, and strategic perspective aligned with the mission, vision, and values of Pharma Informatics.
  • Successfully leads global projects / initiatives impacting any and all Pharma Informatics functions and regions; able to represent Pharma Informatics to partners (e.
  • g., Dia IT and Group Function IT) and customers.

  • Professional experience in the area of SAP Basis including Experience with SAP Basis / Hana in a high compute environmentExperience on SAP Solution Manager activities including, EWA setup, E2E, SD and CHARM configurationInstall and configuration of HANA server, stand-
  • alone SLT Replication Server, add on in ECC for SLTInstallation and support of ERP / Business Suite on HANACreate and configure connection SLT to HANA, SLT to ECCMigration of other database to HANA experienceConfigure monitoring of SAP HANA Databases(DCC)Unix and Linux Administration experienceExperience in reviewing the system performance and provide recommendations for improvementsBO services initial configuration and job administrationAbility to develop and modify shell scripts to automate proceduresDeep understanding of the process required to capture a thread and heap dump and analyze the resultsStrong technical and problem solving skillsAbility to document and translate business requirements to provide technology solutionsSAP database administration based on OracleExperience in SAP InstallationsSAP Net Weaver operational problem troubleshootingSAP upgrade, BW upgrade, Oracle upgrade, kernel upgrades SAP WEB AS java administration, PortalsExperience with in the following SAP applications : SAP ECC6, SAP PI, SAP BW, HANA, BOBJ, CRM, CLM, SAP Enterprise Portal and Solution Manager

  • 12-15 years of work experience in IT industry
  • BS in Computer Science or related field / degree - advanced degree a plus
  • Training and experience with process methodologies (e.g., Rummler-Brache, Michael Hammer, and Six Sigma), best practices / frameworks (e.
  • g., ITIL and COBIT), and process improvement tools and techniques (e.g., process mapping and disconnect analysis)

  • Expertise covering many IT processes with expert / deep knowledge of some
  • Experience mentoring / coaching staff and others who wish to develop skills
  • Knowledge and experience in Project Management and Organizational Change Management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; exceptional analytical skills

  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations to leadership
  • Experience preparing and delivering training on specific processes and tools
  • Able to with little or no supervision and provides direction to other team members
