A vacancy for a RFE Airframe Customer Services Stress Engineer has arisen within Airbus in Getafe.
The successful applicant will join Airframe Customer Services (ES)
Perform the Static, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance justifications associated to Customer Service support and maintenance activities, satisfying airworthiness requirements and matching Customer needs (on-
time delivery, on-cost and right first time). All these justifications are related to structures under RFE responsibility (all in-service Airbus
Tareas y Misiones principales - Responsabilidades
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include :
For daily repairs (one-off repairs) / under scope of M20564, M20037 and A2848.5 : Perform the structural strength analysis of the damages reported by the airline and provide the most adequate repair solution (in time, cost, feasibility and quality)
For major repairs / under scope of M20564, M20037 and A2848.5 : Perform the structural strength analyses associated to those repairs declared as Major Repairs by SEO, requiring an extensive assessment of the damage and the appropriate repairs to be carried out as per customer expectations.
For generic Customer structure queries / under scope of M21033 and A2848.5 : Perform the required structural justifications for allowing the issuance of Technical Adaptations (TA), Airbus Statements of Airworthiness Compliance (ASAC), Alternative Means of Compliance (AMOC) and Flight conditions document for a permit to flight (FCD for PtF)
For all safety related events (MISP, SARI, ISO, etc) where a dedicated investigation is required : Perform the necessary structural calculations (static strength, fatigue and damage tolerance) associated to root cause analysis.
Perform structural strength justifications of generic repairs and pre-defined solutions (for future inclusion or not into customer manuals) :
Define Inspection Requirements / Life Limits for Repairs.
Drive subcontractor activities and provide technical guidance for Static, Fatigue & Damage Tolerance.
Analyze and define the applicable justification means and methods for in-service repairs, when applicable
Collaboration with other RFE design teams in case of issuance of Service Bulletins and other documentation associated to Airbus operators, as AOT, SIL,
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience :
Educated to degree level in Engineering
Experience from 3 to 5 years in F&DT analysis of aircraft structures
metallic and composite) and Static Stress analysis of aircraft.
Use of FE modelling (NASTRAN / PATRAN), hand calculations and
structural analysis tools.
Knowledge of Airbus repair and maintenance manuals (SRM, ALS,
Knowledge of Airbus calculation programs (legacy and ISAMI)
Knowledge of the applicable regulations (Part 21 Subpart M, FAR25,
FAR26, etc) and internal Airbus procedures (AP2433, AM2588) is highly
