performance plastics, such as Stanyl®, Arnite® and Akulon®. DSM Engineering Plastics addresses key markets in automotive and electronics, and provides solutions to specialized industries including water management, breathable textiles and flexible food packaging.

The Challenge :

Our products are very technical with a broad range of specifications and potential application areas. In most cases they are typical specialties, replacing existing applications of competitors and / or become new applications.

The markets in which DEP operates are very dynamic with customers who use complex value chains and focus more and more on a global approach.

As the Account Manager Iberia , you generate profitable business with new and existing customer accounts in your region.

You identify business opportunities, acquire projects and manage the interface between customers, DEP Marketing and R&D.

This position can either be home-office based or in our offices in Barcelona and is reporting to the Territory Manager South West Europe who is based in the Netherlands.

The Position :

  • Continuously update our customers on product launches and new marketing tools and feed back information from customers to the Business
  • Establish and maintain long-lasting internal and external Network
  • Identify long-term business opportunities with the accounts and include these in the account strategy and plan
  • Monitor and benchmark competitive products, market requirements and competitive business strategies (competitive profiling) and incorporate in account and sales plans
  • Lead contract and price negotiations with the respective accounts and ensure the conclusion of sales contracts
  • The Ideal :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in science / technology and / or business-related field required; MSc is of advantage
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing sales / account management required
  • Strong business acumen
  • Knowledge of plastics and plastics processing is essential with a good balance of commercial and technical Know-how
  • Outstanding communication skills on all hierarchy levels
  • Talented networker with excellent negotiation abilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; self-starter with high level of motivation and resilience
  • High level of energy, commitment and passion for the Business
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
