Job Description The Business Development Manager is a key role in convincing business decision makers of Contact Lens customers and eye care practitioners to be proactive in their promotion and prescribing Alcon contact lenses.

BDM will educate the customer segment on Alcon products from clinical and commercial perspectives and will establish strategic relationships.

BDM also delivers commercial savvy solutions to the customers by leveraging and launching InContact platform in order to drive growth and optimal resource utilization.

Develops effective professional business relationships with customers in order to target their specific needs and to differentiate Alcon products to position Alcon as the leader in the targeted therapeutic areas.

  • Executes business plans and drives achievement of sales targets for the assigned customers
  • Develops and applies understanding of customer organizations and networks and of diverse influences that affect customer decisions (e.g. peer relationships)
  • Executes interaction plans for customers to make ensure targeting the right person to deliver the right message with the right frequency
  • Adapts and optimizes approach and communications style during sales interactions, responding appropriately to customer needs
  • Ensures that Alcon products and supporting services are broadly understood and available to more patients and customers
  • Makes effective use of available InContact promotion resources as a relevant integral e-commerce solution and provides necessary digital marketing educational package to the customers
  • Seeks ways to improve patient experience and satisfaction (e.g. direct CL delivery)
  • Uses detailed knowledge of competitor products' features and benefits during sales interactions to improve sales of Alcon products
  • Consults clients on the staff commercial training
  • Allocates resources effectively (i.e. sampling, marketing material, etc.)
  • Works effectively with other Alcon and Novartis stakeholders and with resources in Sales and across other functions (e.
  • g., KAM, Marketing, etc.) to achieve sales targets

  • Provides Alcon stakeholders and other colleagues with insight and feedback gained from customer interactions
  • Works within Integrity and Compliance policies and all company policies and ensures those around him / her do the same
  • Presents a positive attitude and leadership skills to foster a high performing culture
  • Actively participates in all team meetings, conference calls, trainings, sales meetingsMinimum requirements Bachelor's degree in relevant field Business / Marketing preferred In addition to local language, fluent English, written & spoken is an advantage
  • 3+ years' sales experience (Optical experience preferred)
  • Strong business and selling acumen
